Volunteer Roles at Solano Land Trust

Give / Get Involved

Volunteer / Docent

Defined volunteer roles help to ensure volunteer safety, clarify expectations, and enable the ‘best fit’ for you and your desired role.

Each of the volunteer roles comes with a unique set of defined attributes, including responsibilities and scope, qualifications/requirements, goals, and commitment expectations. By identifying a diverse set of defined roles, we both attract and support the extensive community necessary for a healthy volunteer program supportive of Solano Land Trust’s mission and vision.

  • Community Science Volunteer

Get involved in science on our lands! No experience necessary—we'll teach you all you need to know. We typically work from 9:00am to 1:00pm on selected days during the month. Our location varies.

Note: This is an outdoor experience involving physical exertion. There is usually no shade. Be prepared to be moving outdoors for approximately four hours. Depending on the community science goals for the day, you may be hiking, doing physical work, and/or recording observations about plants and animals.
