Jepson Prairie Preserve

4845 Cook Lane, Dixon, CA
Hours: Every day, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Acreage: 1,566 
What to expect: Self-guided loop trail, vernal pools, native grasslands, bird watching.
Visiting:

  • Visitor area, self-guided Loop Trail
  • Bird watching, vistas, wildlife
  • No potable water (please bring your own)
  • Portable toilet
  • Bring sun/weather protection – the preserve’s trails do not have tree cover. It can get windy so pack layers.
  • Dogs are not permitted

Wildflower and Critter Walk tours are held Saturdays and Sundays mid-March through mid-May.

Lynch Canyon Open Space

3100 Lynch Canyon Road, Fairfield, CA
Hours: Friday – Monday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Acreage: 1,039
What to expect: 10+ miles of hiking trails. Rolling hills, trails of varying difficulty, cooler temperatures and breezes.
Visiting:

  • Choose from moderate to challenging routes, like the Lynch Loop Trail with panoramic views of the Bay Area
  • Picnic areas available
  • Class 1 electric bikes allowed
  • Horseback riding welcome
  • Be prepared to see grazing cows
  • Toilets available
  • No potable water (please bring your own)
  • Dogs are not allowed

Docent-led hikes every 4th Saturday of the month.

Annual Lynch Canyon Kite Festival takes place every May.

Parking: $5 by cash or check, or Annual Pass

Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park

2061 Rockville Road, Fairfield, CA
Hours: Friday – Monday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Acreage: 1,500
What to expect: 

  • 14 miles of trails (varying levels of difficulty)
  • 1,500 acre park
  • Rolling hills, sweeping views, wildflowers in the spring
  • Be prepared to see grazing cows
  • Dogs are not permitted

Docent-led hikes every 2nd Saturday of the month.

Rush Ranch Open Space

3251 Grizzly Island Road, Suisun City, CA
Hours: Every day, sunrise to sunset (8:00am-5:00pm November 1 through February 28, 8:00am-7:00pm March 1 through October 31)
Acreage: 2,070
What to expect: Walking trails, views of Suisun Marsh. Some marsh trails may be wet. Visit the horses that live at Rush Ranch.
