In the 1980s, 1,400 acres of land between Suisun Valley Road and Green Valley Road was under threat of development. The beautiful rolling hills and seasonal wetlands were logged in sections. Enter Solano Land Trust.
The property, known now as Patwino Worrtla Kodoi Dihi Open Space Park (Patwin for the "Southern Rock Home of the Patwin People") was opened in 2024 and part of our restoration management plan is to replant the sections of the land which had been logged.
In December of 2025, a group of volunteers, including two intrepid 2-year olds, set out to do just that. With guidance from Stewardship Coordinator Olivia Freitas, Project Manager Jasmine Westbrook-Barsukov, and Senior Project Manager Barry Hill, we planted a variety of different type of oak acorns throughout the land.
