Today, we are proud to partner with the Solano Community Foundation through their Live Solano - Give Solano Campaign to raise funds for our Put a Child on the Land Program.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards
At Solano Land Trust, we believe every young person—from birth through age 24—deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful connection with nature. Our vision is clear: ensure that every child in Solano County feels welcome, included, and inspired in the outdoors.
We know that a personal connection to nature not only improves health and well-being—it also lays the foundation for lifelong environmental stewardship.
That’s why we’re committed to removing barriers and creating pathways to nature through programs like Put a Child on the Land.
How We Make an Impact
K–12 Field Trips – Our Marshes Matter program brings thousands of elementary students to Rush Ranch each year, where they explore the wild beauty of the Suisun Marsh—often for the very first time.
Free Transportation – We provide bus transportation and learning materials at no cost to schools, ensuring equitable access for all students.
- Youth Internships – High school students engage in hands-on internships in STEM and conservation, discovering careers in the natural world.
- Community Docents – Local volunteers are trained to lead and support outdoor programs, helping to create a welcoming environment that reflects the diversity of our youth.
October Is for the Kids — Help Us Put a Child on the Land
This October, we’re calling on our community to rally behind this meaningful effort. Your donation helps:
- Provide essential supplies and transportation
- Expand youth programs and reach more schools
The smiles are unforgettable. The lessons are lasting. The impact is real.
Whether you give $50, $100, or $200—every dollar helps Put a Child on the Land.
Let’s inspire the next generation to love, explore, and protect the lands we all cherish.
