  Trust is currently working with partners in hopes of opening a new sectio
 n of the Ridge Trail across the Vallejo Swett Ranch Property that will con
 nect the Blue Rock Springs Park and Hiddenbrooke Ridge Trail sections.  \n
 \nWith the completion of the Vallejo Swett trail section\, the Ridge Trail
  in Solano County will extend from the Benicia-Martinez Bridge (Carquinesz
  Strait Scenic Loop Trail) to the Napa County line adjacent to Lynch Canyo
 n Open Space Park. This connection will provide new opportunities for outd
 oor recreation for the residents of western Solano County.\n\nMEET UP LOCA
 TION & TIME \n\nBlue Rock Springs Park\n\nParking Fee: $6 Vallejo Resident
 s\, $8 non-residents\n\n650 Columbus Pkwy\, Vallejo\, CA 94591\n\nSaturday
 \, May 9th\, 2026 | 9 a.m. - 1pm\n\n\n\nROUTE INFORMATION\n\nThe total dis
 tance for this out-and-back hike will be about 5 miles\, starting at the B
 lue Rock Springs Trailhead.\n\nTerrain Types: cross country hiking\, ranch
  roads\, paved roads.\n\nCAUTION: Ticks and poison oak are present on the 
 route.\n\n\nHIKE DESCRIPTION\nFrom the trailhead\, we will proceed a quart
 er mile uphill over a series of switchbacks before reaching the ridgeline 
 with views of Vallejo\, San Pablo Bay\, and Mount Tamalpais. Hikers that p
 refer a short hike could return to the parking lot from here.  \n\nWe will
  then cross a pasture fence and walk uphill cross-country following a flag
 ged ridgeline route to reach an old ranch road.  We will follow this road 
 downhill to paved St. Johns Mine Road\, then turn onto another ranch road 
 at the south end of McIntyre Ranch.   \n\nProceeding through a gate\, we w
 ill remain on old ranch roads across a broad meadow with a seasonal displa
 y of wildflowers.  The route will then follow the paved but closed Highgat
 e Road to the connection with the Hiddenbrooke section of the Ridge Trail\
 , affording views of the McIntyre Ranch and the headwaters of the West For
 k of Sulphur Springs Valley Creek.  \n\nThe tour will then retrace its ste
 ps to return to Blue Rock Springs.
